The best alternative for a photoshoot at the Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher are of course an absolute highlight in Ireland. It’s a stunning location and it attracts lots and lots of people. I recently visited the Cliffs on a rainy, cloudy Monday in November and thought there would be no one there. But it was still so busy! I can’t imagine how busy it must be during the summer.
That’s exactly why it’s not the best spot for doing a photoshoot. Most people already feel a bit awkward being photographed, and even though it’s my specialty to make you feel at ease in front of my camera, it’s definitely harder to fully relax when there are so many eyes on you.
Because it’s such a touristy place, there are lots of fences and concrete paths, which we really don’t want in your pictures.
Another photography friend, Carrie, recommended the Kilkee Cliffs instead of the Cliffs of Moher. And my god… these cliffs were just as breathtaking.
I went there for a photoshoot with Shay, a massage therapist who was visiting Ireland from the USA. It was her first time here, and it had been her lifelong dream to visit Ireland. She wanted to celebrate her first solo trip with a photoshoot. We went for goddess vibes!
And as you can see in the video, it was incredibly windy! Shay did so well not falling over. And unlike the Cliffs of Moher, there are no fences here at the Kilkee Cliffs. So of course you have to be very careful. But luckily, there are plenty of spots that are safe enough to stand and move around.
